    Gŵyl Llanandras 2025 | 21-25 Awst

    The 2025 Presteigne Festival will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975), one of the most significant Russian voices of the 20th century, with a special focus on his music.

    Demonstrating its continuing commitment to contemporary music, the Festival will welcome Jamaican-born British composer Eleanor Alberga as composer-in-residence and has also commissioned a collection of 13 news works from a broad and diverse composer base.

    In addition to 14 concert and opera performances, the Festival offers a diverse mix of arts events – exhibitions, film screenings, poetry and talks as well as the ever-popular Presteigne ‘Open Studios’ weekend.

    Bydd Gŵyl Llanandras 2025 yn coffáu 50 mlynedd ers marwolaeth Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975), un o leisiau Rwsiaidd mwyaf arwyddocaol yr 20fed ganrif, gyda ffocws arbennig ar ei gerddoriaeth.

    Gan ddangos ei ymrwymiad parhaus i gerddoriaeth gyfoes, bydd y Gŵyl yn croesawu’r cyfansoddwr Prydeinig a anwyd yn Jamaica, Eleanor Alberga, fel cyfansoddwr yn bresennol ac mae hefyd wedi gofyn am gasgliad o 13 o weithiau newydd gan sylfaen eang a amrywiol o gyfansoddwyr.

    Yn ogystal â 14 perfformiad cyngerdd ac opera, mae’r Gŵyl yn cynnig cymysgedd amrywiol o ddigwyddiadau celfyddydol – arddangosfeydd, ffilmiau, barddoniaeth a sgyrsiau yn ogystal â’r penwythnos ‘Open Studios’ sydd bob amser mor boblogaidd yn Llanandras.
