Springboard Weekend | 10-11 May 2025

Building on the success of our inaugural Springboard Weekend last year, we present a further mini-Festival of arts events in early May 2025. Springboard will again provide an ideal jumping-off point for the Festival year, sharing a set of community events and launching our August Festival publicity in and around the town.

Springboard 2025 will bring together a recital from soprano Sophia Jin and harpist Olivia Jageurs, Dave Luke and Alex Valentine launching their new album at The Duke’s Arms, free drop-in music at Presteigne Library, literary talks, Carwyn Graves on Welsh food, a local walk and two ‘Exhibition on Screen’ film showings. Presteigne Plenty and the Community Gardeners will come together in Daphne’s yard for ‘plants plus’, a plant and spring goodies sale, alongside children’s nature activities.

The weekend will also feature public workshop sessions with six young composers currently on our ‘Compose for Harp’ professional development scheme, mentored by Lynne Plowman and Olivia Jageurs.
