    The All Almighty All

Writing of the Insane, is an 1870 publication by G Mackenzie Bacon, a physician who worked at Fulbourn Asylum. In the book, Bacon explores how the handwriting of patients might reveal their mental state, often focusing on its structure, rhythm and visual patterns. The harpist is invited not only to play the piece, but also to speak lines taken directly from real asylum letters, preserving their original phrasing, spelling and disrupted flow of thought.
