Michael Berkeley leads a conversation in tribute to the late film and television director Barrie Gavin who, as his Guardian obituary says, ‘played a key role in the representation of music and the arts on British and European television from the start of his career in the 1960s, and was still working on ideas for new projects in the days before he died’. Composers Thomas Hyde, David Matthews and film-editor Mike Mulliner contribute their personal recollections of Barrie and his work.
