2024 Presteigne Festival ꞏ Access information

We look forward to welcoming you to the Presteigne Festival in August. The venue information below is intended to help you plan your visit. If you have particular access or seating needs, please telephone or email the Box Office when you make your booking. We will do everything we can to assist.

Wheelchair users

Please notify the Box Office at time of booking if you would like us to reserve a wheelchair space. Your wheelchair can be stored, should you wish to use one for access and then to transfer to a standard seat. Just speak to a member of staff.

Companions

Registered disabled customers are entitled to a free companion ticket. These can be booked online, in person, by email or phone.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at all venues. Please notify us if you intend to bring one, so that event stewards are briefed.

Festival Brochure and Programme Book

We can supply large format versions of our print via email. Please contact the Box Office.

General assistance

The Festival’s Front of House managers and volunteer stewards are always happy to assist. Please do not hesitate to let us know what we can do to make your visit as smooth as possible.

Festival Bus

The Festival Bus is not suitable for wheelchairs. There is step access with which Festival staff/driver are happy to give assistance if requested. If you anticipate having difficulty reaching an out-of-town venue, please contact the Box Office.

Parking in Presteigne

We strongly recommend the use of the two town centre car parks (postcodes below) – on-street parking is very limited and there are time limits of one hour in some areas:

Hereford Street Car Park, Presteigne LD8 2AT (car access from Hereford Street)
Approximately 3 minutes’ walk to our Box Office at the Assembly Rooms.

High Street Car Park, Presteigne LD8 2DP (car access from Joe Deakins Road)
Using a sloping pathway to the High Street, allow 6 minutes to walk to the Festival Box Office at the Assembly Rooms in Broad Street.

 

Individual venue access details

St Andrew’s Church, Broad Street, Presteigne LD8 2AF
Festival capacity: 240. Good sightlines to the performing area from all Premium seats (central nave) with varying levels of view from Unreserved seats in the side aisles.

Venue Box Office situated at the Porch Door. Programme books on sale inside the church at all events. Full toilet provision in both the churchyard and St Andrew’s Hall with both stepped and level access. Allow 5 minutes to walk from the Assembly Rooms Box Office to St Andrew’s Church.

Limited blue badge parking is available. Please enquire when making your booking if a space is required.

Good level access through the Porch Door. Most seating is reached by two steps or via a permanent wheelchair ramp.

There is a hearing loop.

Assembly Rooms, Broad Street, Presteigne LD8 2AD
Festival capacity: 85. Good sightlines throughout. Most of the seating is tiered, so please notify the Box Office if you require a floor-level seat.

Access is by one flight of stairs or a recently upgraded 2-person lift. Fully accessible toilet provision at ground level and mezzanine levels. Blue badge parking is available at both Town Centre car parks. This cannot be pre-booked.

Baptist Church, Hereford Street, Presteigne LD8 2DW
Festival capacity: 90. Good sightlines throughout. Good level access to ground floor seating. Upstairs balcony seating is tiered. Please notify the Box Office if you are unable to access an upstairs seat. Fully accessible toilet provision at ground level.

There is a hearing loop.

Hereford Street Car Park is immediately adjacent with limited blue badge parking. This cannot be pre-booked.

Church of St Mary Magdalene, Bleddfa LD7 1PA
Situated on the A488, between Monaughty and Llanfihangel Rhydithon.

Festival capacity: 130. Access is level but the floor is uneven.

Fully accessible toilet provision at the Bleddfa Centre (adjacent).

Parking is available at the Bleddfa Centre, from which there is a sloping path to the church door. Allow 5 minutes to walk from car park to church.

Blue badge parking is available close to the connecting gate. Please enquire when making your booking if a space is required.

St Michael’s Church, Discoed LD8 2NW
Festival capacity: 100. Access to the building is level, but see parking notes below.
There is limited toilet provision at a neighbouring property, although there is level access it is not fully accessible.

General parking will be signed from the road. Allow 5 minutes to walk from car park to church. Limited blue badge parking available adjacent to the church, thanks to a neighbour. Please enquire when making your booking if a space is required.

Church of St Mary Magdalene, Church Street, Leintwardine SY7 0LB
Festival capacity: 125 on pews. Access to the church is up a slightly inclined path from Church Street. There is limited but accessible toilet provision close to the building.

The church has a hearing loop.

General parking will be signed from the main A4113 through the village. Allow 5 minutes to walk from carp park to church. On-street parking is limited. Please note that Church Street is very narrow and unsuitable for parking.

Very limited blue badge parking is available close to the church door, but car access is very tight. Please enquire when making your booking if a space is required.

Leominster Priory, Church Street, Leominster HR6 8NH
Festival capacity: 150. Access to the building is level. There are ramps for access to toilets, including a fully accessible one in the North Aisle.
