2016 London Fundraiser | Thursday 5 May – Kathryn Thomas, Fenella Humphreys and Timothy End

We are delighted to announce that two of the Presteigne Festival’s favourite artists from recent years, flautist Kathryn Thomas and violinist Fenella Humphreys, will join forces with pianist Timothy End at our London fundraising event on Thursday 5 May.

The eclectic programme features two of the greatest 20th century flute sonatas – those by Poulenc and Prokofiev, one of Beethoven’s most popular violin sonatas, delightful works for flute, violin and piano from Ibert and Martinů and, in keeping with the Presteigne Festival’s policy of supporting young living composers, the first London performance of Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Competition winner Michael Small’s fabulous solo violin piece White Space, premiered in Presteigne last August.

End, Timothy 1

Artistic director George Vass will be on hand to talk about the delights on offer at the 2016 Presteigne Festival and, after the concert, there will be an opportunity to chat with the artists over wine and canapés, all at the delightful central London home of Bob and Elisabeth Boas.
